I love serendipitous events, the synching of the Universe with the thoughts and desires stewing in the back of our minds.
For several months I’ve been playing in the land of short stories. It’s been fun and I’ve learned a lot from the little path that took me off course, but lately I’m hearing these voices and they aren’t happy. It’s the voices of Paisley and Anson. I left them standing in a heated argument in the living room of Anson’s cottage in Beaufort, South Carolina after one intense night together, camping on the beach.
They want to move on. It’s an important time as they are heading into the mid-point of their story.
And I just left them hanging there.
I’m wrapping up a course I’ve been taking at ToWriteWell.com about Figurative language (awesome course!!) and my plan was to do a self-imposed nano for the months of July & August with the goal of finishing this novel by September first.
Here it is, June 30th, I open Facebook to see a post from a writer friend and it’s about Camp NaNoWri Mo! Yes, just like the NaNoWriMo we crazy writers love to torture ourselves with in the month of November, but this one is for July & August! (I think Paisley & Anson set it up)
So, I did it…I signed the dotted line and committed myself to Camp NaNoWriMo for the summer. I’m going to finally finish Paisley and Anson’s argument and let them get back to Asheville and to that life altering scene that is mid-point. (if they knew what was coming, would they be so anxious?)
I’m off to pack my bug spray, wine bottles, music and a note for the hubster. Care to join me?

Hooray! I can’t wait to start this noveling journey alongside you.
Melissa, I’m so glad you are back to writing (and having the time for it!)
I’m with ya!
Hoping to get 100K!
