Dogs Love Their Beds

Dogs love their beds. But, I wasn’t really aware of this fact until recently. My last dog, which I got as a puppy when my kids were very small never had a dog bed. I guess because I grew up with outdoor dogs, it was something I never considered for my dog. She was an indoor dog, but her favorite spot was on the couch.
She passed about three years ago. My kids left home. I was in need of another ‘baby’ and I was missing having a dog. After 2 years of searching, I finally found my puppy!
We live in an apartment with no yard, so it had to be a small breed, but not one that barked all the time. I must say, my little guy fit the bill perfectly! He never barks and is a great size.
But, I digress…we are talking about dog beds.
Hubby and I had talked about getting a little dog bed to use for him in the car. He gets very car sick and though he is slowly getting better, we thought that if he had a bed in the car, he would feel safer and less afraid.
So, hubby picked up a little nondescript bed and brought it home. We tossed it on the couch were he likes to snooze so he could get use to it before we put it in the car.
Well, to my surprise, he adored the bed and is there as often as possible! Not only did he love it, but the 2 cats love it! He is always chasing them out of it.
But, here is the thing….it is ugly.
So, now that I have been awakened to how much dogs DO love having their own beds, I need to get one that looks nice with my decor and that is well…fun!
After all, spoiling him is one of my mid-life pleasures!

Yep, you are right. My mutt has taken the whole couch as her bed. I have a little Pom, too and she loves her little bed. Just a pretty basket with a soft baby receiving blanket. God Bless, Celene
