Goddess Journeys Journal Prompt- What Has You Worried?

Today is the first Goddess Journey’s Journal prompt -
Before I list the prompt, I want to say that when someone starts up journaling, the first thing they wonder is where do I start?
Always start right where you are…what are the thoughts you are dealing with right now?
So, for this first prompt- list 5 things that you are worried about/obsessing over/upset about.
I’m not wanting us to focus on the bad stuff. But, typically it’s those things that take over our thoughts. So, by writing them down, we can then “let go” and ask our Higher self to deal with them. Our journals can become that place where we can ‘dump’ our burdens and allow our thoughts to change on those issues.
And, speaking of that, after you write your list, take one of the items you wrote and try to change it around so that it doesn’t feel quite so bad. This practice of seeing things a little differently allows the subject to lose it’s power and to stop the thought from getting even more negative. Doing this often helps to make it a habit in dealing with negative situations and helps reduce stress.
One of the items on my list is this: My car has broken down again and I’m really tired of being stuck at home!
(My car has been a lemon since the day we bought it and we have put a ton of money into it and some days, it’s fine and then something breaks again! Right now it over heats in just a few minutes…we are shopping for another car, but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to actually purchase one)
So, now I will re-write it ( and re-write it as many times as you can until it doesn’t feel so overwhelming) -
- I work from home, so it is not really THAT big of a hassle. I’m not trying to figure out how to get to work each day!
- I have put it out to the Universe what I want and I know the Universe can deliver it. - - The Universe is handling this…I don’t need to concern myself with it anymore!
- My new car is on it’s way!
I can write that and feel how it makes me feel…and I feel better. I can take a deep breath and know that it’s really OFF my list of what is upsetting me presently.
This is a way of journaling that can release stress and is a way to deal with the things that seem to keep us worried.
Learning to re-write the situation does take practice, which is why doing this in our journals is a great way to learn to see things with new perspectives.
Two things I want to share here….I use the word ‘Universe’…that is, for me, the word that means Higher Power…use whatever feels right for you.
I also believe that when we ask, we are ALWAYS answered….I know that for fact and have seen it over and over.
Not everyone believes in that. I’m not trying to change anyone’s beliefs. You are where you are and that is all that matters. Write what feels right for you.
I also realize that some items on your list may be so huge to you that there is no way to see it any other way. Yet, this is why it takes practice…even if you see it just a smidge differently…even if you simply need to write…”Everything ends up turning out ok in the end.” Seeing it differently is the first step to changing it in your life.
If nothing else writing down what is bothering you is a way to get it out of your head where it does tend to take over and grow. Don’t give it that power!
Write it down, let a Higher Power deal with it and turn the page!
Secondly, I believe that what we focus on, grows bigger and we will get just that. Again, why give the bad stuff so much attention? You have way more power than it does!
Of course, your journal is just that…your journal, your journey. Write what you need to write about today. No one is censoring you or checking your spelling. Let your wise inner goddess speak…she has amazing things to say!
