Really Relax Contest

So, how do you really relax? How often do you really relax? How about entering a really relax contest?
I am a relaxation junkie because I have seen what it can provide and I am hooked!
So, when I saw this contest over at N*tranced, I knew I wanted to share about it here.
First, I’ll share how I relax -
Bubble baths are probably my favorite way to be by myself and totally relax. I discovered this when my kids were very young and whenever hubby was home, if I could escape to the tub, I would. It was there that I daydreamed about working in water with folks who were recovering from something and sure enough, several years later, I was a certified Water Fitness Instructor, a swim coach and volunteered to work with recovering stroke patients and those recovering from back injuries.
It was in the tub that I was able to cure my horrible chronic sinus infections.
And it is always in the tub that I can clear my mind and allow my muse or higher self to speak and inspire me as to my next step.
Water does something for me, especially very hot water (I know, really hot baths are not as good for you, but really hot baths work for me!)
I sink in, create some type of aromatherapy, have a huge glass of ice water and candles going and off I go…..to total relaxo land!

There really is something wonderful about water. I think my favorite way to relax is to just be near water, lying in the sun (with tons of screen) and listening to the sounds it creates, whether it is a mountain lake, the Chesapeake Bay, or an ocean.

I usually sit outside and meditate. In the summer I sneak into the front yard after the children are asleep and lay out on the grass and watch the sky …. Living close to a rain forest on wet days I snuggle into bed with candles and meditate.

This used to be my favourite way to relax. Unfortunately, I now live in the tropics and I don’t have a bathtub. Of all the things I miss, this has to rate the highest. Taking hot showers just doesn’t cut the mustard.
Okay, I do have the nice warm ocean to compensate for it…
