I want to thank all of your for your emails and comments left here regarding my relative and her depression. I was able to get Adult Protective Services involved and some folks lined up to check in on her. She was too sick to be admitted to the hospital (due to the possibility of getting a staff infection) but at least now there are folks looking into her situation. Restraining orders put on those abusing her and her depression has turned to the willingness to fight for her health and the desire to get better. I am so grateful - even if there are ridiculous loops and dead ends within our system when dealing with something like this.
It made me see just how many people out there are alone and don’t have anyone in their corner batting for them. It breaks my heart.
I know she will pull through this as she is very strong and I have seen her true spirit…one of compassion, kindness, honesty and strength. Maybe someday, her parents and a few other family members will see her for who she really is…a beautiful being deserving of so much more than she has been given.
The Universe always answers when we ask for help.
